Do you need help figuring out how to improve your manuscript? I am a freelance independent editor who works across a variety of genres. For enquiries, contact me on or use the form on the contact page.

Basically, after you provide a sample of the manuscript and details of the word count and, if relevant, draft number, I will discuss the editorial brief with you. Then, based on the complexity of your manuscript,  I will provide you with a quotation and a layout of procedures and the timeline.  Each project is different and together we would consider yours, and the text’s, needs. This is a far from exhaustive list, but the brief would deal with some, or all, of the following: overall structure of the manuscript; organization and content of your manuscript;  developmental issues; a line and content edit; language-related issues; plot issues; dialogue; character development; setting; openings; endings; style; syntax; clarity; inconsistency.
